Piano Tuning & Care

A piano is a wonderful instrument. Five thousand working parts have been put together with care. They should work well for years, but a piano needs your help and regular attention to ensure perfect performance.

Your piano should be regularly tuned at least every six months. If neglected it will soon deteriorate and if not tuned the pitch will alter, necessitating more work when the piano is serviced. Tuning and servicing of your piano is a highly technical operation which should be carried out by a suitably qualified tuner/technician.

We offer one-off or repeat tunings every 6 months from our own piano tuners.  To organise a tuning appointment please fill in the form or contact our tuning department on 0117 9241151.

Piano Transportation

Organise a collection and/or delivery anywhere within the UK and our widely experienced transport department can be relied upon to move a piano safely and promptly to your desired location at the desired time. Transporting a piano can be done internationally or can be simply within a single building. All destinations can be catered for.

An upright piano should always be supported at the back where the main weight of the instrument is situated. It should never be pushed backwards from the front, and hand grips are provided to enable the piano to be lifted.

Expert piano movers should be used for transporting both upright and grand pianos and Mickleburgh Transport Department will be pleased to assist you with advice.

To arrange the transportation of your piano please call our Transport Department on 0117 9241151 or fill in our online enquiry form and we will get back to you with a quote as soon as possible.

What’s included in the price?

When purchasing your new piano, the price includes delivery and first tuning (usually carried out 3-4 weeks after delivery so as to allow the piano to settle into its new environment).
